There was enough wood to construct one of the battering rams. Rusa would have to wait until next month for the next one to be constructed. As he waited for the other battering ram to be built, Rusa saw he had plenty of men in his army. However, he wanted to wait for the other siege weapon to be finished.

Money was not an issue for Rusa. With that in mind, he invested more in forts.

You have constructed an infantry fort and an archery fort. Cost 500 drachma.

Drachma – 5598

Rusa checked to see what else needed to be done. He decided Thorne was his next target due to the marble in the city. He wanted to build the temple for King Minos.

It wasn’t necessary to build the temple, but Rusa felt that taking over the enemy capital would be pretty tough. The wall around the temple still needed more stone to continue construction.

Most of the actual city building was complete. It was just a matter of beating the enemy in this bloody civil war. Before the end of the month, a couple of messages came for him.

Rival Minoan Army Invades!

King Pyrgos III is sending a fleet to your city. It shall arrive in three months. Make sure your fleet is prepared for this invasion.

His fleet was powerful and would only be stronger once they were upgraded to war galleys. He wasn’t worried about the fleet coming. Rusa was confident his navy was the strongest in the known world. Not worried about the invasion, he read the next note.

Pyrgos requests money

The city of Pyrgos while under our control is poor. The unforgiving rule of King Pyrgos III has left the city in bad shape. The governor needs 3000 drachmae to rebuild Pyrgos to its former glory.

Rusa was rich, so sending Pyrgos money wasn’t a big deal.

Requests

3000 drachma to Pyrgos

You have sent 3000 drachma to Pyrgos.

Drachma – 2598

After sending the money to Pyrgos, Rusa had his sights on the city of Thorne. He needed to get that city back under his control as that was the only source of marble.

Without it, there was a good chance his power would begin weakening.
